The Legal Advocacy Program staff assists agency clients by assessing individual needs, providing education on legal rights options, and providing support and accompaniment in the client’s pursuit of those options. Legal Advocates also provide advocacy to address conflicts between clients and landlords to prevent homelessness.
Legal Advocates in collaboration with Texas Rural Legal Aid (TRLA) provide the following services:
Information regarding legal options
Advocacy and accompaniment to court, attorneys offices, and law enforcement agencies
Assistance in obtaining Protective Orders
Referrals to TRLA, Pro Bono Project, and private attorneys for assistance with representation in divorce and/or child custody matters.
