Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program

Committed to Ending Domestic Violence

Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program

The Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program is a psycho-educational group for women and men that use violence as a resort to communicate. This program is designed to help members learn of the beliefs systems that challenge the norms of safe communication. It is also designed to help members identify and further explore behaviors that feed into an automatic response that causes harm and violence to their partner and children.

The Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program is composed of 24 modules based on the Power and Control Curriculum from the Deluth Model.

These 24 modules are interpreted as 24 sessions. Each session is delivered weekly in 2 hour groups. Groups are held separately for men and for women.

Many of our members have been recommend to this program through the judicial system. The program coordinator is available to help facilitate the next step for the recommend participants. A handful of our participants come on a volunteer basis as they wish to better their communication with their partner and families. All participants are welcomed.
